Seattle got the first look. Last night, Young Miko opened the U.S. leg of her Late Checkout Tour, the first arena tour of her career and the run behind her second studio album, Do Not Disturb, right here at Climate Pledge Arena. Every city after us gets the polished version. The 206 got opening night, and we treated it like a block party that happened to have a roof on it.
The Party Started Before She Did
If you've never been to a reggaetón show in Seattle, here's what you need to know: nobody waits for the headliner. Long before Miko hit the stage, people were already out of their seats, dancing in the aisles to the reggaetón pumping through the arena speakers. It didn't feel like a pre-show. It felt like all the Latin crowd in Seattle showed out for one big perreo warm-up.
And the flags. Puerto Rican flags everywhere: draped over shoulders, waving from the upper bowl, held high on the floor. For a show 3,000 miles from Añasco, it looked a lot like home for a lot of people in that building.
I'll keep it real: the show started late. Doors opened around 8 PM, which was also when the show was supposed to start, but it got pushed back and Miko didn't take the stage until 9:45 PM. With no opening act on the bill, that was close to two hours of waiting on a Tuesday night. But the crowd never let the energy drop, and the second the lights went down for the intro, that whole wait was forgiven.
Opening Night, No Warm-Up
Once Miko hit the stage, she didn't ease into anything. The set leaned hard into the songs that made her a star, cuts like What's Ur Vibe?, Lisa and Tempo, her collab with Marshmello, and an arena that came ready to move held up its end.
She moved easily between the flirty, laid-back side of her catalog and the harder-hitting stuff, and the energy in the building never dipped.
The Moment Everyone Will Remember
Then came the moment every phone in the building went up for. Miko pulled a fan up out of the crowd and sat her right in the middle of the catwalk, then performed for her, up close, slow and sensual, with the whole arena screaming around them. It's the kind of moment that ends up all over TikTok by morning, and for one lucky fan it's a story she'll be telling for the rest of her life.
It also says something about who Miko is as a performer. She's built her career as an openly queer artist in a genre that hasn't always made room for that, and moments like this one land differently because of it. The crowd knew it, and the noise in the arena showed it.
Covers, Collabs and a Big Finish
Miko also reached into the wider urbano world she's part of, with covers like Bad Bunny's FINA and Feid's Classy 101, and the crowd sang them back like they were her own songs. At a Young Miko show, they basically are.
And of course there was BZRP Music Sessions #58, the Bizarrap session that put her in front of a whole new global audience. By the time the night wrapped, everyone headed back out onto Harrison Street sweaty, hoarse and happy.
A Crowd That Brought the Island With Them
What stays with me most from last night isn't any one song. It's the room. The PNW Latinx community, and especially the Boricua community, showed up for this one in a big way: flags, jerseys, groups of friends who clearly planned this night months ago. Kicking off the U.S. tour in Seattle wasn't just a routing decision. It was a chance for this corner of the country to show how deep the love for urbano runs up here, and the 206 made it count.
The Verdict
A late start, sure, but a night that more than earned the wait. Young Miko's first U.S. arena headline show proved she belongs in rooms this size: a catwalk moment people will be talking about all week, and a crowd that was dancing long before she showed up. If this is what opening night looks like, the rest of the Late Checkout Tour is in for something special.
Setlist Highlights
The night ran through fan favorites including What's Ur Vibe?, Lisa, Tempo, Likey Likey, BZRP Music Sessions #58 and WASSUP, plus perfomances of Bad Bunny's FINA and Feid's Classy 101.
