KAROL G Launches TropiTour With Two Sold Out Nights in Chicago (90,000+ in Attendance)

KAROL G officially opened her Viajando Por El Mundo TropiTour this weekend with two sold out performances at Soldier Field in Chicago, drawing more than 90,000 fans across the two-night run. The opening shows marked the beginning of what is now her largest concert production to date, kicking off a tour that will travel through North America before continuing across Latin America and Europe.
The production unfolded across five distinct acts, each bringing a different visual style and musical direction. Live musicians, large-scale choreography, pyrotechnics, fireworks, and confetti transformed Soldier Field into a constantly changing stage, while a massive pool built into the set became one of the show's defining features. Throughout the night, KAROL G also debuted several custom-designed outfits created alongside Brett Alan Nelson, ETRO, Michael Schmidt Studios, The Blonds, and SEKS.
Before KAROL G took the stage, singer-songwriter Elena Rose opened both nights, energizing the sold out crowd ahead of the main event.
One of the evening's biggest surprises came during the Tropicoqueta portion of the show when Academy Award-nominated actor Edward James Olmos appeared on the stadium screens to introduce the next chapter of the performance. The moment led into mariachi-inspired renditions of "Ese Hombre Es Malo," "200 Copas," and "MAMIII," highlighting another side of KAROL G's catalog while celebrating traditional Latin sounds.
The setlist balanced fan favorites with fresh interpretations of some of her biggest hits. Songs like "BICHOTA" and "TUSA" returned with new cumbia and salsa arrangements, giving longtime fans a different experience without losing the energy that made both tracks global successes.
Chicago also became the first city to hear KAROL G's newest music live. At the end of opening night, she debuted "MATADORA," closing the concert with a surprise performance that sent fans home with one final unforgettable moment.
With opening weekend now complete, the Viajando Por El Mundo TropiTour moves on to the rest of North America before heading to Latin America and Europe. If the first two nights are any indication, fans can expect one of the most ambitious live productions of KAROL G's career when the tour reaches their city.
